Maindy at the first Cardiff Club Games
October saw the launch of the first Cardiff Club Games. It's been running for 20 years in London and this year was the first year that Cardiff has run this event.
The Club Games is for people over 60 who compete in various activities such as swimming, pickleball, badminton and walking football. It is a competition, but it is really to celebrate our older members and to give them a really fun and enjoyable experience.
Team Maindy took a team of 16 over to host centre Llanishen which was the most of any of the centres.
Everyone did really well and put their all into everything, even though there were some activities that they had never done before they really gave it everthing.
There were a few incidents, however the event went really well and the team had alot of fun and did themselves and Maindy unbelively proud.
It's great that Maindy has such a sense of community and that really shone through during the day. We even had supporters come over to help and support the team.
We want to say a massive thank you to all those who took part and the community spirt of Maindy really shone through
We are looking forward to next year and building on the succsess of this year and hopefully it will be even bigger and better!
Well done all!
