Gym
Our fully equipped gym has the latest Technogym equipment including the brand new Excite Live cardio range. Equipment includes cardiovascular machines, resistance, free weight area a functional space and Group Cycle Studio for you to enjoy.
Studios
We have 3 studios available for fitness classes at The Sands Leisure Centre. 2 of our state-of-the-art studios have integrated music systems and are fitted with Wexer Virtual Fitness software, which features dozens of virtual classes on a weekly basis. This gives the opportunity for both instructor led and virtual classes.
Group Cycle Studio
Here at The Sands Centre we have a large group cycle studio which hosts an extensive class programme 7 days a week.
Sports Hall
Our 4 court sports hall can host a wide range of activities including football, basketball, badminton, fitness classes and much more.
This is also the home of our superb junior courses which include trampolining, football and gymnastics.
The Riverside
With a relaxing atmosphere and free wifi, it is the perfect place to get refreshed after a workout, wait for your children’s swimming lessons, or simply grab lunch!
The coffee shop menu will focus on quality barista coffees and speciality teas supported by a range of soft drinks and freshly baked pastries, We offer high quality food and service delivered throughout the year. A seasonal menu and the use of fresh, local and ethically traded/sourced products, as well as a good range of meat, dairy and gluten free options are available.
NHS
The redevelopment project at The Sands Centre has allowed GLL to consolidate the existing arrangements with the North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust Musculoskeletal (MSK) team. The MSK team already provide treatment services at The Sands Centre but can now expand their services and develop new joint/collective treatment and rehabilitation activities with GLL and other partners.
The NHS provision is situated at ground level to provide easy access.
Soft Play
Oue exciting soft play area is a safe environment specifically for children and contains a range of colourful, interesting and stimulating equipment for babies and toddlers. Located with our centre you can have great fun whatever the weather!
