January saw the launch of a brand new venture to Penrith Leisure Centre. Walking Netball is a sport for all, devised by England Netball to make it as accessible as possible so as many people as possible can try, return or continue playing netball.

Roo, our instructor, let us know how the first few sessions have gone -

'I wasn't 100% sure how it was going to be received but in the very first week 13 lovely ladies appeared and enthusiastically embraced this new venture like teenagers in a theme park!! The numbers have grown each week as have the confidence levels and team meshing.

At the most recent session (Wednesday 29th January), 22 newly named Penrith Penguins rocked up and totally smashed the session!! 3 teams on the court and even a seasoned player refereeing the matches.

I am absolutely delighted and hope the team goes on from strength to strength!!!'

A brilliant start to this new activity and we look forward to seeing this session grow. The session runs every Wednesday from 1.00pm - 2.00pm in the sports hall and is only £3.00 per session.
