International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.  You can find out more about this day,  how you can support it and more about this years campaign #BreakTheBias at www.internationalwomensday.com . Recent research by UK Active and This Girl Can showed that 22% of women wouldn’t feel comfortable exercising in a leisure setting. This International Women’s Day we are hoping to affect this statistic with the provision of a variety of different activities across the day.

On the day, Kentish Town Sports Centre will be proudly showing our support by offering an additional Women’s Only class aimed to inspire women to be happier, healthier, and more active. This class is for members and non members alike and bookable in advance at no extra charge.

We will be running the following class on the 8th March at 8.30am (advance booking is required, either through the website or app):

  • Aqua Aerobics 08:30 - 09:20

This is a water based work out. Aqua aerobics is similar to a normal aerobics class, but since it's done in the water, it places less strain on your joints. Aqua aerobics also helps to strengthen the body because the water offers resistance. Water has much more resistance than air and allows for a full body workout.

And it’s not just at Kentish Town Sports Centre either, across the borough of Camden we are offering a range of additional activities aimed to breakdown barriers and get people active, and below are just some that you can book on to:

Swiss Cottage:

  • 8:15am Group Cycle
  • 10:15am Power Pump
  • 1:15pm Zumba

Pancras Square:

2pm – 3pm Women’s only Swim

All activities can be booked via our website here and the Better UK App
