We’re getting really excited for the forthcoming launch of Woolwich Waves, and we’re sure you are too; we can’t wait to open the doors and welcome you in.
Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or just joined us we’re sure you’ll have lots of questions about the new centre. We’ve set up a dedicated guide to share updates and answers to frequently asked questions.
We may not have answers to all of your questions just yet, but we’ll keep updating this page over the coming weeks, so be sure to check back in regularly.
When will Woolwich Waves open?

Will Waterfront Leisure Centre close before Woolwich Waves opens?
Waterfront Leisure Centre will close its doors for the last time on Wednesday 31st December 2025
I have a membership at Waterfront Leisure Centre - do I need to do anything in order to transfer it to Woolwich Waves?
No, we will take care of everything for you and you will be automatically transferred.
My membership includes access to Waterfront Leisure Centre, as well as other centres. Will I be able to access Woolwich Waves?
Yes - if your membership includes access to Waterfront, it will also include access to Woolwich Waves
I pay for my membership monthly - will my price change when I move to the new centre?
No, you will continue paying the same monthly fee when you move to the new centre. All fees and charges will then be subject to the usual annual review in April 2026.
I pay for my child's swimming lessons monthly - will my price change when I move to the new centre?
No, you will continue paying the same monthly fee when you move to the new centre. All fees and charges will then be subject to the usual annual review in April 2026.
I pay as I go for my leisure centre activities - will the price be higher at Woolwich Waves?
No, all activities currently offered at Waterfront Leisure Centre will be available for the same price at Woolwich Waves. All fees and charges will then be subject to the usual annual review in April 2026.
What facilities will there be at Woolwich Waves?
- Leisure pool with two flumes, and an aqua park featuring a toddler pool and a splash pad
- 25m, 8-lane main pool
- 17m, 5-lane training pool
- Spa Experience including sauna, steam, relaxation room and treatment rooms
- Large gym spread over two floors
- Four studios – Group Cycle, Bootcamp Studio, and two fitness studios
- 6-court sports hall
- Indoor 5-a-side 3G pitch
- Two squash courts
- Café
- Soft play and party rooms
- Créche
Will there be new equipment at Woolwich Waves or are you taking the equipment from Waterfront?
Yes, the equipment at Woolwich Waves will be new.
My membership includes access to the Health Suite (Sauna) at Waterfront Leisure Centre. Will I have access to Spa Experience at Woolwich Waves?
Spa Experience is a different product to the Health Suite and is not included in existing memberships. There will be new memberships launched which include Spa Experience, and also reduced price sessions available each week on a 'pay as you go' basis.
What lessons and courses will you offer at Woolwich Waves?
We will be offering:
- Swimming lessons
- Gymnastics
- Football
- Basketball
- And more to follow
I am a customer at Waterfront. Will I be able to get early access to Woolwich Waves?
As part of our preparations for launch, we will be running a variety of test events at Woolwich Waves. Waterfront customers will be invited to some of these sessions.
