Mental Health Awareness Week
Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub marked Mental Health Awareness Week this month with a series of thoughtful and engaging activities aimed at promoting wellbeing among both members and staff.
One of the activities was the “Walk & Talk” which took place around Gunnersbury Park. Members and staff were invited to take a relaxed stroll together while engaging in conversation.
The Sports Hub introduced a Gratitude Wall, which quickly became a focal point of the week. Staff and members were encouraged to write down things they were grateful for, creating a vibrant and positive display. Over 100 contributions were recorded with messages ranging from personal achievements to appreciation for family, friends, and community support
Recognising the importance of staff wellbeing, the Hub incorporated wellness breaks into staff shifts throughout the week. This initiative highlighted the organisation’s commitment to supporting employee mental health, acknowledging that small pauses can significantly improve focus, mood, and productivity.
A dedicated Yoga session was delivered as part of the week’s activities, with a focus on the mental health benefits of regular exercise. Participants were encouraged to consider making yoga and exercise a regular part of their routine as a proactive approach to maintaining good mental health.
The Mental Health Awareness Week at Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub was a positive and engaging initiative that brought the community together while promoting the importance of mental wellbeing.
