Phoenix Fitness Centre and Janet Adegoke Swimming Pool are proud to be hosting a number of events on Monday 2nd December in support of cancer research.

The day will begin with activities in the pool and the gym all with the amazing prize of a month’s free membership.

The gym will be hosting a skipping competition, pushing our customers to their limits by seeing how many skips they can do in one minute using a skipping rope; this will be supervised by our Fitness Instructor, Jonas.

In the pool, we will be holding a swimming competition that will be running all day. One of the lanes in our 25m pool will be used for customers who want to take part in the challenge of swimming 50m as fast as they can, again with the great opportunity of winning a months free membership for the fastest time. Our lifeguards on duty will all be given stopwatches to facilitate this so ensure to tell them as you are about to start.

From 4pm onwards, the centre is attempting to raise even more money for the charity by having a bake sale where our staff members and members of the local community are all donating their time to making extra delicious cakes to sell to those hungry kids who have just worked hard in their swimming lessons.

Not to mention a special visit from GLL’s own mascot Giselle who will pay us a visit on her long journey around each Better Centre across the UK.

Monday the 2nd promises to be a fun packed day all for a great cause. Having our staff so enthusiastic  to help out has really made organising this event not only fun and exciting but inspiring as it shows that we can all make a difference to this great cause and help those in need.
