Introducing your new leisure operator, Better

We are delighted to let you know that from 8th October 2020, the management of the Lewisham leisure centres transferred from Fusion Lifestyle to Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) to run under our ‘Better’ brand. The transfer means your membership contract with Fusion Lifestyle has been assigned to, and continues with GLL.

We're even more excited to let you know that Glass Mill Leisure Centre will be reopening on 3rd December 2020, in-line with the Government’s lift of the lockdown. Forest Hill Pools and Wavelengths are planned to open on 4th January with The Bridge, Bellingham and Ladywell Arena gym, still under review.

Any members whose home club is not Glass Mill Leisure Centre, but would like to use the centre until their respective centre opens, are asked to contact us and unfreeze their membership here.

GLL is a charitable social enterprise; we manage public leisure facilities in many areas of the UK including Belfast, Cornwall, Cumbria, London, Manchester, and Newcastle.

We are not a profit-making organisation, but reinvest all surpluses back into the service. This means we are very experienced at providing affordable and accessible community leisure facilities and look forward to welcoming Lewisham into the GLL family.

The Better UK App

The Better UK app has everything you will need to access your Better leisure centre.  The app will ensure that you have all of the latest activity timetables, opening times, service updates and of course, your membership card to be able to access the facilities.

You can download the app on the Apple and Google Play stores by searching ‘Better UK’.  For more information on our App, including video tutorials please visit our booking page.

Your Better membership card

As your existing card will not be compatible with the new computer systems we have installed, you can access your new Better membership card via the Better UK app. On your first visit to your local leisure centre, please speak with a member of staff, who will be able to show you how to access this via the app.

If you do not have a smart phone in order to download our Better UK app, you will be able to collect a new membership card (free of charge) from reception on your first visit.

Online activity bookings (where we run bookable activities and lessons)

Once you have your new membership card (with your new membership number) you can register for online bookings via the Better UK app.

Timetable information

To view the latest fitness class programme information, select ‘Book Classes’ via the Better UK app. This is also the best way for you to book in for your activity sessions.

While you may notice that some of the fitness class names will change slightly, please be assured this is a name change only and the class content will be the same.  Fitness class programme timetable boards will also be displayed in-centre and updated by staff daily.

Opening times

You can find the latest opening times on the centre’s page on Glass Mills Leisure Centre for example.      

We also update the Better UK app and your centre web page with any changes to opening times during some holiday periods, so please check regularly for these. Notices will also be posted in your centre.
