Whether you're trying something completely new or rediscovering a sport you love, there's plenty of fun waiting for all ages and abilities.

Activities include:

  • Gym Access – Explore our fitness facilities and discover how we can help you achieve your health and wellbeing goals.
  • Kids’ Swimming for just £1 – A fantastic opportunity for young swimmers to have fun in the pool at a special promotional price.

  • Plus, a range of additional activities running throughout the day for all ages and abilities.

On Saturday 18th July 2026, Newham Leisure Centre will host a community sports open day at its new-build facility. Running from 9am–5pm, the event aims to bring together local residents, sports clubs, and community organisations for a day of sport, activity, and engagement.

The event will showcase a wide range of opportunities available across the borough, with one half of the sports hall dedicated to promotional stalls, while the other half will host a series of one-hour taster sessions. Participants will have the chance to try a variety of sports and activities including pickleball, basketball, badminton, netball, and much more. These sessions are designed to introduce people of all ages and abilities to new sports and encourage greater participation across the borough.

To make the most of your visit, we recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable gym or sports clothing
  • Suitable footwear (e.g. trainers)
  • Swimwear and a towel if you plan to use the pool
  • A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
  • Your Better account details (or be prepared to register on arrival) If you are not a member, please create a free non member account.
