Eid al Fitr

Eid in the Open event took place at Newcastle Trampoline Park & Gym on 2nd May 2022 to celebrate after Ramadan.

Eid Prayer and celebration event attended by approx. 5,000 people

On Monday 2nd May an Eid in the Open event took place at Newcastle Trampoline Park & Gym; organised by Newcastle Central Mosque in conjunction with Newcastle city council.

The event has taken place here for the last 10 years but this was the first full scale event since 2019, due to various restrictions over the last 2 years because of Covid..

This showed in the attendance with a congregation of approximately 5,000 people attending the event to take part in the prayer and hear the sermon delivered.

The prayer was followed by some of the congregation then staying to continue the celebration together, enjoying food and fair ground rides.

We were also happy to welcome many of the families into the Trampoline Park to make use our Soft Play and Trampoline Park activities afterwards.

The event was a huge success and planning has already started for the next Eid event; Eid Al Adha, will take place here again in July 2022.

Ramadan;

Prior to the Eid in the open event was Ramadan, which took place throughout the month of April.

As we knew we had a lot of our gym members who would be fasting throughout the day in April we took the decision to have some late night gym sessions available to them.

This would enable members to break their fast, attend prayer and still come and get their workout later that evening.

These sessions were added on Monday’s and Thursday’s throughout April, with the gym opening until after midnight on each of the eight days.

We hope this made a difference to those that came to these sessions and would welcome any feedback from those that attended or those who were still unable to train throughout the month of Ramadan.
