You're invited to our National Sports Open Weekend on 18th &19th July 2026
Atherton Leisure Centre is excited to announce we are hosting our National Sports Open Weekend on Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th July 2026.
There will be an array of Fun Filled Free activities across the day aswell as plenty bookable activities for the family in the local community to take part in and enjoy! If you are an existing member feel free to bring along friends or family members to experience this day with you or if you’ve always wanted to try out the Centre but have never got around to it, now is your chance!
Whether you want to enjoy some family fun or are looking to embark on your very own fitness journey, we’ve got you covered!

What do I need to bring?
Please wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for all classes and sports hall activities; equipment is provided. Please make sure you bring a towel and water with you.
What if I have a health condition?
Please make sure you let the members of staff know about any health conditions prior to activity.
What if I have never been before?
If you're new to any of the activities or unsure about using certain equipment, feel free to ask one of our staff members. We’re here to guide you. If you’re using the gym or taking part in any physical activities today, please ensure you’ve warmed up first. If you need guidance, our fitness instructors are here to help.
Do I have to be a member?
No, our open day sessions are open to everyone. Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the app or online at https://bookings.better.org.uk/register, then simply booking an available open day activity. As part of the registration process, customers must agree to the activity terms and conditions, which include a signed waiver granting access into the centre.
