Rivermead and Palmer Park Leisure Centres designated as a 'Cool Spaces' to help Reading residents beat the heat
To support our local community's health and wellbeing, Rivermead Leisure Centre and Palmer Park Leisure Centre and Stadium are providing a 'Cool Space' for anyone seeking respite from the heat.
If you're in need of cooling down, you're able to benefit from free drinking water, air conditioning, toilets and seating area.
The initiative supports those who may be vulnerable this summer - which in many areas is turning into a record season for high temperatures and repeated heatwaves.
Please note, this is available to anyone (including non-members).
As well as offering a welcoming, cool environment and tap water, Cool Spaces can offer an introduction to physical activity if so wanted - swimming and refreshments from the cafe can be obtained (normal admission charges apply).
