Pickleball Stars Shine at White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre in Official English Open Warm-Up Event
White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre played host to one of the UK's biggest pickleball weekends of the year on 25th–26th July, as 612 entries were recorded across the official warm-up tournament ahead of the English Open.
Organised by PickleB, the two-day festival of pickleball transformed the centre into a hive of activity, with an impressive 24 courts in operation throughout the weekend. Players travelled from across the country to compete, socialise and fine-tune their game ahead of one of the sport's premier events on the calendar.
From the first serve on Saturday morning to the final matches on Sunday afternoon, spectators and participants were treated to a packed schedule of competitive action, featuring hundreds of matches across multiple categories. The atmosphere throughout the venue reflected the sport's distinctive blend of competition and community spirit, with players supporting one another on and off the courts.
The White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre proved an ideal venue for the occasion, accommodating the large-scale tournament with 24 courts running simultaneously. The exceptional turnout underlined the rapid rise in popularity of pickleball, which continues to attract increasing numbers of players from all backgrounds and experience levels.
With record participation, high-quality competition and a vibrant festival atmosphere, the PickleB warm-up event delivered an outstanding curtain-raiser to the English Open and further demonstrated why pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.
