We’re working with North Yorkshire Sport, to find out more about the health and development needs of sport and physical activity providers in the area. The information you provide will help shape our support to the sport and physical activity sector as well as providing a county wide picture.

North Yorkshire Sport and their Local Authority partners have launched their annual survey to gauge the health of the grassroots sport and physical activity sector.

The survey will shape the help, understand the challenges that providers face and learn more about the factors that are having the most effect on members and the workforce within these settings. It will also help to determine how we can best support the sector to grow, or in some cases, survive.

Sports clubs, charities and voluntary groups and physical activity providers from the private, public and voluntary sector are encouraged to complete the survey with the incentive of a prize draw for those who enter; these included funded access to mental health training.

Active Communities Manager, Jane Ratcliffe, explains the importance of the survey: “we have gained so much valuable information from this annual survey which has helped shape our development support to organisations over the years, with one example being the launch of our online learning platform, Yorkshire & Humber Learning Community. The survey allows us to represent and be the voice of the sector and help articulate their needs and challenges to local and national partners.”

Now in its 6th year, the annual survey should take you about 15 minutes to complete. You will be asked information on general club health, membership, workforce, development goals and training needs. Once completed you will be in with a chance to win a prize for your setting, including one of 10 places on the Mind Mental Health Awareness online course.

The closing date for the survey is Monday 23rd January 2023. To find out more and complete the survey please visit https://www.northyorkshiresport.co.uk/provider-survey
