Be part of The New Rise Gymnastics Competition by Better

We’re excited to announce that we will host the first ever Better Rise Gymnastics Competition, in partnership with British Gymnastics at Sobell Leisure Centre, Islington, on Sunday 7th December 2025.

Bringing together the Rise Gymnastic from across the Better London leisure centres, this is a fantastic opportunity for our young gymnasts to compete in a fun, supportive environment. Every gymnast will receive a certificate and medal to celebrate their day.

About the competition

Gymnasts will compete across four key Rise Gymnastics Explore skills;

  • Core Skills
  • Vault
  • Bench
  • Small Apparatus

The competition will run between 8.30am and 6.30pm and each leisure centre will be allocated a timeslot of 2.5 hours for their gymnasts to arrive and compete.  This will be communicated a few weeks before the event.
On the day each gymnast will receive a scoring sheet which they will use to collate their score throughout the competition.

At least one coach from your leisure centre will also be attending, so there will be friendly faces on-hand to guide and support during the day.
Gymnasts will arrive, register and head to the warm up gym, before their competition. All friends and families are asked to please make their way directly to the sports hall with any bags and take their seats in the meantime.
