Cambridge Set to Celebrate Active Ageing with the 2026 Better Club Games
Cambridge is gearing up for a major celebration of community spirit and active ageing as the Better Club Games 2026 arrives at Cherry Hinton Village Leisure Centre this September. The event, now marking 20 years of the national Better Club Games programme, will bring together adults aged 60+ from across Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire for a day of friendly competition, social connection and local pride.
Taking place on 17 September 2026 from 10:00–14:00, the Games will see participants and spectators come together to represent their local Better centres. With a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere, the event encourages older adults of all abilities to get active, try new sports and enjoy the buzz of a large community gathering.
A Day of Sport and Community
Participants will have the chance to take part in a variety of accessible and enjoyable activities, including: Badminton, Pickleball, Table Tennis and Short Mat Bowls
These sports have been chosen for their suitability for all ability levels, ensuring that everyone can get involved, whether they’re seasoned players or trying something new for the first time.

Registration is now open, and adults aged 60+, whether Better members or local community participants, are invited to sign up through their nearest leisure centre or via the online form.
