Following a stroke seven years ago, 70 year old Penny started using Llanishen Leisure Centre through the GP referral scheme.

Penny first visited the centre using a wheelchair after the stoke left her very unsteady on her feet but through her determination and tenacious attitude she has continued to use the centre 3 times a week, now using just a frame.

Penny has worked closely with GLL’s Mark Morgan for the past 4 years as a follow up to the GP referral scheme and is impressed at how Penny has built training into her everyday life.

Mark says ‘Penny is the best she can be following the stroke and that’s down to her structured approach to building up her strength and mobility’.
