National Sports Open Weekend - 18th and 19th July

Get Ready For The Team England National Sports Weekend at Star Hub

Save the date: 18th and 19th July 2026 

Come and join us in partnership with Team England at Star Hub for a weekend filled with free sports and fun family activities for everyone to enjoy.  

Ready to unleash your sporting spirit? Members and non-member can jump in and experience the excitement of Commonwealth Games-inspired sports and activities.  
Whether you're trying something completely new or rediscovering a sport you love, there's plenty of fun waiting for all ages and abilities. 

Across the weekend, both adults and juniors will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of gym taster sessions. These free sessions aim to introduce newcomers to the facilities and encourage people of all fitness levels to discover the benefits of regular exercise in a friendly and supportive environment.
Families can also enjoy dedicated fun swimming sessions, where children and parents alike can make the most of the pool in a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere. 

The National Open Weekend is the ideal opportunity to explore the centre’s facilities, meet the friendly team, and find out how easy it is to make health and wellbeing part of your everyday life. Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer or a total beginner, there’s something for everyone. If you have any questions or medical concerns please email star@gll.org

Non-members

Non-members can participate by creating a free account via the app or online at https://bookings.better.org.uk/register, then simply booking an available open day activity. As part of the registration process, customers must agree to the activity terms and conditions, which include a signed waiver granting access into the centre.

You will need to bring a towel and water bottle for the gym and don't forget your swim costumes and towels for the pool. Our lockers are coin return so you only need a token or pound coin.
