Whoop! Whoop! Our new functional training area is open!

We are delighted to announce that thanks to capital investment from GLL we have transformed a dull, underutilised area at the back of our leisure pool into a unique, outdoor functional training space.

As Senior General Manager Amelia explains 'Its such a lovely space, well equipped with a wide range of kit and with a roof canopy you can work out taking in that lovely Cornish air whatever the weather.'

The fitness kit that we have invested in allows you to train using cardio kit such as ski ergs alongside equipment such as battle ropes, kettle bells, slam balls, sand bags, tyres, suspension kit and more.   We even have a sled that you can stack with weight plates to develop your strength.

We have now launched a series of instructor led functional training classes in the space to make working out in this space a more sociable session plus our instructors will put you through your paces with a workout to suit your needs and to improve your well being.

Our members are very impressed with the transformation, with one customer sharing their fondness in an email that they “absolutely love the new outdoor space!” to GLL General Manager Adam Riddle. “I don't think there is anywhere quite like it in Cornwall, it's amazing.”
