Introduce your child to healthy exercise habits at a young age by enrolling them in a Junior membership at Truro Leisure Centre, designed specifically for children between the ages of 11 and 17. Sessions are available after-school, at weekends, and during school holidays. A staff member is always available on the gym floor during the sessions to ensure that our junior members have an enjoyable and safe workout experience
The Junior Gym initiative is designed to cater to young individuals aged 11 to 17, providing them with allocated timeslots for their workout sessions. To participate, it is mandatory to pre-book through the online platform or app. An expert fitness instructor will supervise the session, offering guidance, supervision, and addressing any queries.
At Truro Leisure Centre, juniors aged 11 and over are able to attend the centre outside of traditional junior gym hours, provided they attend with a parent or guardian.
Both the adult and the junior must book into a session, but you do not need to be members to do this and you can just book the pay as you go session.
Supervision: Please note that the adult/parent must actively supervise the child at all times and takes responsibility for the child's conduct and safe use of machines. Junior must also undertake a junior induction prior to first session.
In order to guarantee the safety of all our junior members, we offer a Junior Gym Induction conducted by a certified fitness instructor who will instruct them on the appropriate use of the equipment and exercises. Prior to their initial Junior Gym session, it is mandatory for all juniors to schedule this induction.
If you're looking for a fun and effective way to help juniors improve their posture and sports performance, we are now junning a junior cuiruicts class! These classes are made up of a unique combination of strengthening and functional exercises, combined with agility drills to help young athletes improve their overall fitness.

This junior membership offers children under 18 access to every Better swimming pool and children from 11-17 access to every Better gym and junior fitness classes in their local area during programmed sessions. They’ll also be eligible for discounts on other junior activities, helping your youngsters learn about and enjoy fitness from a young age
