Try Something New at West Reservoir on 22nd November

On Saturday, November 22nd, West Reservoir Centre in Hackney will be opening its doors for a special Open Day as part of Better’s nationwide open weekend, where we're encouraging everyone to 'Try Something New'. The event invites families to explore new activities and discover what’s on offer at their local leisure centre.

As part of the celebration, West Reservoir is offering 30 free spaces throughout the day on its popular Saturday Youth Club sessions. These taster sessions are open to young people aged 8–17, giving them the chance to experience water-based fun and adventure in a safe, welcoming environment. Activities typically include kayaking, canoeing, and team games, all led by qualified instructors.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents and guardians can book a free spot for their child by emailing west.reservoir@gll.org.

The Youth Club at West Reservoir is a fantastic way for young people to build confidence, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors. More information about the club can be found here.

Across Hackney, other Better leisure centres will also be hosting a variety of free and low-cost activities as part of the Open Weekend, encouraging residents of all ages to get active and try something new.

Please note, any young people attending the sessions with medical conditions, should make instructors aware on arrival.
