Highbury Promotes Health and Wellbeing at Islington Council Event
Highbury Leisure Centre enjoyed a successful debut at Islington Council’s annual Purpose to Action Week, generating new memberships and promoting health and wellbeing to council staff.
Held at Islington Town Hall from 14 to 16 September, the event brought together council employees from across the organisation to connect with colleagues, learn about services and discover opportunities available to staff. For Better, it was an opportunity to showcase leisure facilities and services.
Over the three-day event, Highbury Leisure Centre secured new corporate members and raised awareness of Better’s corporate offer among the workforce. A key attraction throughout the week was the free blood pressure and BMI health checks delivered by Healthwise and fitness staff. In total, 54 health checks were completed. The health checks provided an opportunity to discuss healthy lifestyles, physical activity and wellbeing.
Working closely with the marketing team ahead of the event, promotional flyers, posters and display materials were developed to highlight the corporate membership scheme. Protein shakers and notepads were also given away for free as part of the event.

There was also strong interest in the spa at Ironmonger Row Baths, which features spa facilities such as saunas, aroma steam rooms, Turkish Baths (Tepidarium, Caldarium and Laconium), Ice Fountains, Monsoon showers, bucket shower, plunge pool, Hammam and relaxation lounge.
