Dorking Sports Centre is pleased to be part of Mole Valleys, Cool Spaces initiative, providing a welcoming indoor environment where members of the local community can escape high temperatures and find relief during periods of hot weather.

Our sports centre offers many air-conditioned areas that can feel noticeably cooler than spending time outdoors during a heatwave. Whether you're visiting for exercise, meeting friends, enjoying a coffee or simply taking a break from the heat, everyone is welcome.

Members of the public are welcome to make use of our café, which is open at varying throughout the day and provides a comfortable place to relax, enjoy a cold drink and cool down. We also offer free access to our meeting room and drinking water from our fountains, helping visitors stay hydrated when temperatures are high.

For those looking for a more active way to beat the heat, our swimming pool provides the perfect escape. Pools are typically several degrees cooler than the outside air, making swimming one of the safest and most enjoyable ways to stay active during hotter weather. Whether you're coming for a family fun swim, lane swimming or simply a refreshing dip, our pool offers a welcome break from the summer heat.

Importantly, you do not need to be exercising to benefit from our Cool Space offer. If you are feeling the effects of the heat and need somewhere comfortable to spend some time, you are welcome to visit the centre, take a seat, enjoy a drink and cool off in a safe and welcoming environment in our meeting room.

As a designated Cool Space, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing of our community, particularly during periods of extreme weather. We know that hot temperatures can be challenging for many people, including older adults, young children and those with underlying health conditions, and we want the local community to know that Dorking Sports Centre is here for them whenever they need it.
