Here at Gosforth Leisure Centre, we love to celebrate our fantastic members and we are proud to say that we have some really great ones here. 

Geoff Cookson has been a member at Gosforth leisure centre for years. In the past few years we have been actively supporting Geoff with the Charlie & Carter foundation. A charity set up by Geoff's son Chris and his wife Sarah in honour of their two sons Charlie and Carter who both tragically passed away due to health complications. Chris and Sarah decided to set up the charity to help others in a similar situation to them at the time.

At the beginning of the 2022 it was announced that Chris will be awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Years Honours list. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Geoff and his family on the wonderful news.

We would also like to highlight another of our members Andy Robertson. Andy has completed numerous challenges for The Charlie & Carter Foundation. which include an ultra marathon, running120 miles for 27 hours straight and most recently running and cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats raising thousands of pounds. Andy is now training for an Ironman and we would like to wish him every success with this adventure.
