Prestwood Gym has announced a series of exciting developments aimed at strengthening its role at the heart of the local community.

To support the daily operations of the centre, the gym has welcomed four new general assistants, all have been recruited from the local area and share a passion for sport and fitness. The Prestwood management team expressed confidence that these additions will not only enhance the smooth running of the facility but also provide meaningful experience and opportunities for residents in a workplace they enjoy.

In a further step towards inclusivity, Prestwood Gym has partnered with The Shaw Trust, a leading employment charity dedicated to helping people with disabilities overcome barriers to work and social inclusion. The gym has welcomed a new intern through this initiative, underscoring its commitment to creating accessible opportunities. Members are encouraged to introduce themselves and extend a warm welcome when they see the intern around the centre.

Prestwood Gym is also working closely with the Prestwood Community Association to improve amenities outside the premises. New bike racks and benches have been installed, alongside upgraded lighting around the building’s perimeter. These enhancements are designed to make the facilities more welcoming and accessible to all visitors.

Prestwood Gym has also launched its brand-new 3G football pitch. Representing an investment of £110,000, the advanced artificial turf pitch offers a state-of-the-art playing surface for local teams and individuals. The facility is expected to become a hub for community sport, providing opportunities for both recreational and competitive play. Bookings can be made via the Play Football website.
