Introduction to Powerlifting workshop
Fitness enthusiasts and newcomers alike are invited to take their first steps into the world of powerlifting at an upcoming event hosted at Better Gym Belfast on Sunday, 12th April, from 12pm to 2pm.
Organised in collaboration with the Northern Ireland Powerlifting Federation, the “Introduction to Powerlifting with NIPF” session aims to provide a welcoming and educational environment for those curious about the sport. The workshop is designed to cater to complete beginners, gym members interested in power lifting, and anyone looking to refine their lifting technique.
Among the key figures on the day will be Anthony McLeggan, an accomplished International Powerlifting Federation champion, alongside Daniel Allen NIPF Performance Manager. They will be joined by other NIPF representatives, offering attendees a rare opportunity to learn directly from top-level athletes and coaches.
The session will focus on building confidence under the bar while introducing the fundamental techniques of the three main powerlifting movements squat, bench press, and deadlift. Participants can expect hands on guidance and expert tips to help them train safely and effectively.
The schedule for the afternoon is as below
12:00pm – Introduction
12:15pm – How to squat
12:45pm – How to bench press
1:15pm – How to deadlift
1:45pm – Conclusion and close
With powerlifting continuing to grow in popularity across the UK and Ireland, events like this aim to break down barriers and make the sport more accessible to all. Organisers hope attendees will leave not only with improved technique, but also with the confidence to continue their strength training journey.
Booking available from Monday 6th April.
