Pickleball at Bodmin Leisure Centre

Pickleball is a fast and family-friendly racquet sport. Played on a court with a net, you'll need "paddle-like" racquets and a ball with holes in it. A mixture of Badminton, table tennis and tennis, this fun sport is increasingly popular across the uk.

Whether you are looking for a group session to play with other people or just to book a court, our courts are open for everyone. Come along and have a go!

You can play singles or doubles Pickleball which makes it a very social and energetic game. 

All equipment is available to hire.

Pickleball Group Sessions

We offer pickleball group sessions, supervised by our Pickleball activator. These sessions are great to learn more about pickleball, get active and socialise with like minded people.

Pickleball takes place on our Indoor Tennis courts using existing badminton courts but with a net similar in height to a tennis net.

Adult Social Pickleball (Supervised session) - Wednesday 6pm & Friday 6pm 

Adult Social Pickleball (Supervised session) - Thursday 1pm - 2pm

All equipment is provided.

Members and Non Members alike are welcome to get involved!

Pickleball Court Hire

At Bodmin Leisure Centre we offer bookable Pickleball courts for you to bring others with you.

Pickleball Paddles and Balls can be hired at Reception for £3.50 (Don't forget we are a cashless centre).

You can book a court online or via the app (Search Sports Hall Activities)

Pickleball Coaching - Short Courses

Our 4 week short courses are designed for adults that would like coaching and learn the various Pickleball techniques and tactics. These courses offer good coach / participant ratios and the focus is on the needs of the group. Sessions will test your abilities with games based coaching drills.

Our coaching sessions are run by our Pickleball England Level 1 Club Instructors.

Adult Beginner Coaching

Thursday 8th May - Thursday 29th May 6pm - 7pm £36

We'll go through all the shots and technique, where to serve and return, scoring and strategy including the Two Bounce rule and No Volley Zone. We'll even have you playing rallies by the end of the first lesson in this fun introduction to Pickleball!
This course is ideal for those who have played a few times before or complete beginners.
After completing it you can come to  social drop-in sessions and play games, or rejoin the next coaching course.

Pickleball Doubles League

Friendly and Competitive Pickleball matches.

The league is open to all standards, meet new people and have fun playing pickleball. 

  • Enter with a partner, pairs can be same or mixed gender
  • Arrange your own matches
  • All matches to be played at Bodmin Leisure Centre.
  • Please book a Pickleball 60 min court, and share the cost.
  • Matches are played first to 2 sets, a set is to 15 points (2 points clear)
  • Outdoor pickleball are to be used.
  • Winners to email the result to the organisers

Pickleball Masterclass

Pickleball Doubles Masterclass 

Dominate the 2025 tournaments with coaching from European champion Richard love. Richard will be delivering coaching sessions on Tuesday 11th March.

Richard is top 5 DUPR rated player, 2024 European Doubles Gold medalist, Reigning European and National Doubles champion, Represents Team England, IPTPA Pickleball Coach & Tutor.

12.30pm - 2pm & 2pm - 3.30pm £35.00 per player

Group Coaching 

Skills and Drills Sessions

4pm - 6pm & 6pm - 8pm £25.00 per player

Booking is essential for all sessions. The masterclass sessions are for players regularly playing, with solid knowledge of the game.

Bodmin Leisure Centre are hosting their second pickleball doubles competition. Friday 14th March 6pm - 8pm

Sign up with a partner by Friday 7th March. £15.00 per pair.

Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
