We're excited to welcome you all to Birtley Leisure Centre and are looking forward to opening our doors on Tuesday 7th April at 7am.

GLL, operator of Better leisure centres in Gateshead, will take over management of Birtley Leisure Centre from the council on 1 April 2026.

Better have partned with We Do Tennis to provide a wide ranging programme of tennis in Gateshead Parks.

We're all about helping to make community services and spaces better for everyone.

A new and inclusive SEND programme is here to strengthen support for children, young people and families across Gateshead.
