Our members at Oasis Sports Centre recently hosted an exceptional fundraising event with the aim of supporting the invaluable services provided by the London Air Ambulance. The event witnessed the remarkable efforts of 20 swimmers, ranging in age from 25 to 80, as they embarked on an ambitious challenge to swim the length of the English Channel. Which they did in just 55 minutes! Their extraordinary determination not only led them to conquer this daunting task, but also resulted in raising an astounding £2000, surpassing their initial goal of £500. Assembling a team of 20 swimmers, ranging in age across multiple generations, showcased that age is no barrier when it comes to collective achievement and the spirit of philanthropy.

The fundraising event organized by this group was centred on supporting the life-saving work of the London Air Ambulance. Recognizing the crucial role this organization plays in providing rapid medical response to emergencies across the capital, the event aimed to generate funds to aid their noble cause. The funds raised will play a significant role in supporting the London Air Ambulance's crucial work, enabling them to continue providing rapid medical response to emergencies across the city. The impact of this achievement extends beyond the monetary value, reflecting the collective power of individuals coming together to create positive change.

The members demonstrated not only their physical prowess but also their incredible fundraising abilities. With an initial goal of £500, they rallied support from their community, friends, and family to secure an astonishing total of £2000. This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about the generosity and compassion of both the swimmers and those who supported their cause.

The success of this fundraising event extends far beyond the completion of the swim itself. Our members have kindled a flame of inspiration within their community and beyond. As donations continue to pour in, long after the event has concluded, the impact of their efforts.

The success of this fundraising event would not have been possible without the unwavering support and dedication of the Oasis community. From the swimmers themselves to the volunteers who contributed their time and efforts, each individual played a vital role in orchestrating this triumph.

The event also received overwhelming support from local businesses, who recognised the importance of backing community-driven initiatives. Their contributions have further solidified the collective commitment to making a difference and supporting causes that have a profound impact on people's lives.

Well done to everybody involved!
