Every year, Oasis donates lanes to Swimathon which is the world’s largest annual fundraising swimming event. It’s great for passionate swimmers or people looking for a challenge. Swimmers can take part as individuals or as a team swimming a total from 400m to 5km.

We had 12 people take part on Sunday 31st of March. Each Swimathon for different reasons participants require resilience. Danielle, Dean and Sofiane completed their 1.5k team challenge with one less person than expected. Jack pushed himself as he swum the maximum distance of 5km. Jon and Mike deserve a shout out, they  completed 1.5k each (100 lengths) which showed age was not a barrier as they are both over 70. We also enjoyed that the majority of our charitable swimmers were female and a few of them such as Ruthy want to share their photo to help inspire others to join Swimathon 2020. If you see them at the centre they will be more than happy to answer any questions.
