Better site Queensmead Sports Centre will be extending their Tennis programme to offer something for everyone. A full variety of coached, social and drop-in sessions will ensure no matter your age, sex, or ability, there’s something for you.

Taking place at Queensmead Sports Centre this summer, members and local residents can get involved in one of the following sessions.

FREE Tennis For Kids

Free tennis lessons for 5-8 year olds. Tennis for Kids returns in 2017, with an aim to get 20,000 kids - brand new to tennis - on a 6-week FREE tennis course this summer.

Tennis for Kids launched last year, offering children the opportunity to fall in love with tennis by taking a course delivered by specially trained, fun, passionate coaches between April and September. The initiative was a great success, reaching over 13,000 kids, all of whom took home a brand new, specially designed Davis Cup tennis racket.

 6 week courses will be taking place over the following dates, and bookable via

  • 26th April, Every Wednesday, 17:30 – 18:30, Ages 5 – 7.
  • 26th April, Every Wednesday, 18:30 – 19:30, Ages 8 – 10.
  • 21st May, Every Sunday, 10:30 – 11:30, Ages 8 – 10.
  • 21st May, Every Sunday, 11:30 – 12:30, Ages 5 – 7.
  • 8th June, Every Thursday, 17:30 – 18:30, Ages 8 – 10.
  • 8th June, Every Thursday, 18:30 – 19:30, Ages 5 – 7.

Mini Tennis

These popular junior sessions are designed under the guidance of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to assist juniors with tennis learning and development specific to their age group.

Queensmead Sports Centre run a 50 week rolling programme with lessons taking place either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. See our Tennis programme on our website for days and times.

From the 17th April, Queensmead Sports Centre will be offering an online discount of £10 for those signing up via for a limited time. 

Tennis Tuesdays

These women’s only sessions focus on different areas of the game, improving ability through skills training from professional coaches and match play with other women at similar levels. Advantage Tennis Training

ATT is the chance for men to play each other of similar abilities and be trained each week on a particular aspect of the game. The sessions are led by an experienced professional who organises drills, game play and matches in a fun social environment. First session takes place on the 19th April. Give It Your Max Family Fun Tennis

This coach coordinated session is for all the family. This £2 per person session will include racket and ball hire and some casually led activities that can be taken home and played back in the garden for all the family. First session takes place on the 20th May.

Family Fun Tennis

A chance to bring the kids out for a game of Tennis. For £1 a person including racket and ball hire. This open session is for the family to turn up and have a hit on court.

Queensmead Tennis League

The Queensmead Tennis League is approved and affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and offers a competitive singles tennis league for both men and women based in the Ruislip area.   There is a £15 registration fee, which includes a complimentary membership to the LTA. Queensmead Sports Centre is run by leisure operator Better. It has 4 macadam outdoor floodlit tennis courts, which are open between 17:30 – 23:00 Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 17:00 Saturday, 8 – 21:00 Sunday.
