On Sunday 12th June, a team of gymnasts from Sobell Trampoline Club travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre to compete in the London Club & Challenge Cup Championships. The team successfully qualified for this event back in March. There were some amazing performances and high finishes, including from Mark Kozevnikov (Club level 3 men 11-12) and George Auberson (Challenge level 4 men 13-14) who were crown London Champion!

Lead coach Ebony said ““This is our first year back competing since lockdown the team have done all of us coaches very proud”.

There is no rest for the squad as they prepare for more competitions this year. George Auberson, Kye Malcolm and Nell Singer have all made it into the London team which means they will compete in September over a weekend in Sheffield representing London.

Many of the team started trampoline lessons at a young age and have worked hard with the coaches to develop their skills. General trampolining at Sobell is for children aged 5-15 and teaches fundamental elements, including skills such as seat drops, front drops, back drops and somersaults. Selected individuals who develop through the programme have an opportunity to represent the club on regional competitions.  You can book a spot online here.  Sessions are run in a friendly environment and delivered by qualified coaches.
