Wimbledon Leisure Centre Gym and Studio Refresh

Wimbledon Leisure Centre has a fantastic gym space but it’s time we gave it a bit of a face lift. Over the next couple of months, you’ll see a number of developments around the centre, to help modernise the look, and feel and make for an all-round better place to stay fit and active.  Updates will take place across some of our key locations in the centre including the reception area, fitness studio, group cycle studio, first-floor changing rooms and the gym.

There may be disruption to the timetable during the work but we’ll try to keep it to a minimum and of course, give as much notice as possible if there is a reduced service in some areas for a short period. Gym

The gym is set to enjoy full redecoration including upgrades to all LED lighting for a more energy-efficient centre. You’ll see more splashes of colour through focused visuals and LEDs to zone the various workout areas such as cardio, strength, resistance and functional training zones.

We will look to improve the functional fitness provision across the gym with 3 new racks fully stocked with the latest functional equipment. Two of these will be located in the current functional zone with a new unit being installed in the side room, next to the free weights zone.

Group Cycle Studio

The group cycle studio will receive the biggest transformation with full redecoration of the floors, ceiling and walls. There will also be a new sound system installed alongside atmospheric LED colouring lighting. This will help build the atmosphere and make sure you get an extra buzz from your workout before the music even starts.

Main Studio

The main studio will receive a refurbishment with redecoration throughout, repairs to the flooring and installation of dimmable lights to help set the mood for calmer classes such as yoga.

Gym Changing Rooms

The changing rooms will receive redecoration to walls and shower areas. This will include freshening up the vanity spaces and improving the lighting throughout.
