Better Launches ‘Active April’ to Support Local Carers
To mark the 61st anniversary of Carers UK, Teddington Pools and Fitness Centre and Pools on the Park are partnering with the charity to offer carers discounted access to fitness facilities during Active April, running from 1st April to 1st May 2026.
Throughout the campaign, Carers UK members and those receiving Carer’s Allowance can access Better leisure centres at a discounted rate of £34 per month. This membership includes access to the gym, swimming pool and fitness classes.
In addition, on Wednesday 15th April, carers can enjoy a free one‑day pass, giving access to gym, swimming and fitness classes at their chosen centre (subject to availability). This free pass cannot be booked online and must be claimed in person at reception on 15 April, with proof of Carer’s Allowance or Carers UK membership.
The initiative aims to highlight the importance of physical activity for carers, with research showing that 67% of unpaid carers feel more connected to others when they stay active.
