Free Activities for All - Team England National Sports Open Weekend
The Commonwealth Games return this summer, taking place in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026. As one of the world’s biggest multi-sport events, it’s a fantastic opportunity to inspire communities to get active.
As a charitable social enterprise, GLL is proud to bring the spirit of the Games into local communities, helping more people feel connected to a major summer of sport.
One of the highlights will be the Team England National Sports Open Weekend, taking place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th July 2026 at Better leisure centres across the country.

Join us for an action-packed Open Weekend at Sutton Sports Village, filled with fun activities, fitness taster sessions, and family-friendly games. This exciting event is open to everyone, whether you’re a regular gym-goer, thinking about starting your fitness journey, or looking for family fun activities to enjoy over the weekend.
Across two exciting days, we’ll be hosting a wide variety of free fitness classes, gym taster sessions, and interactive family games designed to get everyone moving and having fun. It’s the perfect chance to try new activities and discover what you enjoy.
We invite all non-members join us at Sutton Sports Village for a weekend of health, fitness, and positivity. Don’t miss this opportunity to get active and experience everything our sports village has to offer!

What are the master classes?
Our fitness master classes sessions also allow you to explore different ways of working out through structured sessions varying in either strength and conditioning based exercises or cardio based exercises.
What should I bring?
Comfortable workout clothes and trainers
A water bottle
What if i have a health condition?
Please ensure you make the staff aware of any underlying health conditions you may have before starting any physical activity.

Do I need to be a member?
No, the Open Weekend is open to everyone.
Non-members can take part by creating a free account online or via the Better app:
Once registered, you can book onto any available Open Weekend activity.
As part of the process, you’ll be asked to accept the activity terms and conditions.
