Customers at Leyton Leisure Centre will soon benefit from improved toilet and changing facilities on the first floor, as part of our ongoing work to improve the experience for everyone using the centre.

The first floor is a busy and increasingly popular part of the centre, hosting around 56 group exercise classes every week, alongside our parent spectator area, Group Cycle studio and new women-only gym.

Currently, one accessible toilet and shower serves the floor. To better meet the needs of customers using this area, we’ll be reconfiguring the existing space to provide two separate toilet and changing facilities.

Responding to growing demand
The improvement comes as we continue to see increased use of facilities across the first floor.

Since opening in September, our women-only gym has welcomed more than 300 visits, while attendance at Group Cycle has increased by 12%.

Daniel O’Connor, Partnership Manager for Waltham Forest, said:

“The existing facilities are well used, so although this is a relatively small refurbishment, it will make a real difference to the customers who use this part of the centre every week.

“We’re continuing to look at how we can make practical improvements across our centres, responding to how our customers are using the facilities.”
The refurbishment is another step towards making Leyton Leisure Centre an even better place to be active and enjoy our facilities.

We’ll keep customers updated as the work progresses, including details of any temporary changes to access during the refurbishment.
