Celebrating Downs Syndrome Awareness Week
Hello I’m Christopher. A very special employee of GLL. I have a learning disability called Down Syndrome. I have worked in Manchester arena/tennis centre for 9yrs as a Leisure Service Asst. working two shifts a week. I love my job. I feel very proud to be a working man. I enjoy working with my colleagues and having a banter with them at lunchtime. Being a working man makes me feel good. I do need some support which comes from ThecDown Syndrome workfit team who support my colleagues also.
Throughout my working life I have achieved many things. Student of the year at college.. My Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.. best man for my big brother Simon’s wedding with a cracking best man’s speech thrown in.
On 31st May this year I will be taking part in the Greater Manchester 10k run ( although I will walk most of it) in aid of Down Syndrome Manchester.
