Open Water Swimming comes to Debdale Outdoor Centre

That's why we're pleased to let you know that in partnership with Manchester City Council, from Tuesday 9th June 2026 we're offering Open Water Swimming sessions at Debdale Outdoor Centre in Manchester.
Whether you fancy an escape from your day to day, a dip in nature or to train for a triathlon, open water swimming is a perfect way to boost your mood, take on a challenge and build confidence. Read on to find out more...
Open Water Swimming Sessions
Our 1-hour sessions are open to competent swimmers aged 16 and over, with changing facilities, showers and lockers available. Please bring your own padlock or you can purchase one from reception. We offer safe, well‑managed open water swimming with sessions fully supervised by our qualified safety team.
What does it cost?
- Manchester residents with a pay as you go membership or an existing Better member pay just £8 a session
- Non Members - £10.50
What times can I swim?
Our 1 hour sessions will run on the following days and times:
• Tuesdays: 5pm till 8pm
• Thursdays: 5pm till 8pm
• Sundays: 9am till 12pm
Please note: all swimmers are required to wear a bright coloured swimming hat and a tow float while swimming.
