Sleaford Snails Seniors Walking Football Club, based at Better Gym, Sleaford has much to report concerning its involvement in the Community, both locally, and abroad. The club membership has doubled in the past eighteen months with 20 different players involved three times per week throughout the year.

Primarily, we are proud to announce that one of its members, Neil Woodmansey MBE & his search dog, Colin, have been dispatched to Turkey & Morocco to assist with earthquake victim rescue. The team was responsible for the recovery of numerous survivors after the two disasters. Neil lives in Sleaford and is an active member of the club.

Additionally, 17 Snails & their wives travelled to Crete for the second time to play against Kalives Titans WFC. We enjoyed 11 days of successful competitive Walking Football & Mediterranean sunshine.

Also, for the second time, Sleaford Snails have been selected as Community Champions by Lincolnshire Co-op. They have recognised the work we do to encourage fitness for the elderly & mental wellbeing amongst our members, both male & female, aged 55-75. The Snails play competitive matches against teams such as Ruskington & Woodhall Spa.

The Snails also support Laffletics – a club based at Carre’s School which provides sporting activities for the disabled youth of Sleaford and is run by Thelma Smith. We have also raised £500 for the Ukrainian war victims in the UK and provide funds for the Sleaford Xmas Foodbank.

The Sleaford Snails Seniors are a sociable, friendly & welcoming club who invite players of any standard, male or female, to join us on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 0930.

Better Gym Sleaford are proud to support such a pillar in the community.
