Mental Health Awareness Week - Andy’s Man Club

Better Gym Sleaford welcomed Andy’s Man Club during Mental Health Awareness Week, bringing an important message about men’s mental health to members and the local community.

The charity spoke about the importance of opening up and supporting each other, reminding everyone that “it’s okay to talk.” The session was relaxed and honest, giving people the chance to listen, share, and learn more about the support available.

The visit was a great way to highlight that the gym isn’t just about physical fitness, it’s also a place for connection and wellbeing.

Staff and members gave really positive feedback, and there’s hope to work with Andy’s Man Club again in the future to keep the conversation going.

International Learn to Swim Week

Sleaford Leisure Centre’s Swim School got involved in International Learn to Swim Week with a fun and practical focus on water safety.

Throughout the week, lessons started with themed warm-ups all about staying safe in and around water. Each day covered something different to keep things interesting. Swimmers learned about water safety flags, explored how you can become a swim teacher, and practised the “three steps to help save a life,” along with other useful tips.
