Join the Sleigh2Give Appeal this Winter
Leisure centres across South Oxfordshire and the Vale are gearing up for a season of giving as they proudly join the annual Sleigh2Give Appeal, transforming their venues into festive Donation Stations for the local community.
Each year, Sleigh2Give works tirelessly to deliver kindness, joy, and practical support to those who need it most. The charity provides gifts to children spending Christmas in hospital, low-income families in Didcot, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable members of the community. This year, our leisure centres are delighted to play an even bigger role in helping bring festive cheer to doorsteps across the region.
“We’re incredibly proud to support Sleigh2Give,” Kevin Williams, the Partnership Manager for South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse, said. “Our facilities sit at the heart of the community, and this appeal is a wonderful opportunity for customers to come together and make a meaningful difference during the holiday season.”
Visitors to any participating centre will now find a clearly marked, accessible Donation Point where they can drop off brand-new, unwrapped gifts. Suggested items include toys, books, puzzles, arts and crafts, sensory items, baby essentials, and toiletries—thoughtful donations that will brighten someone’s Christmas morning.
Staff at each centre have been preparing dedicated spaces to ensure donations are easy to spot and simple to drop off. The appeal will run until Sunday 14 December, and all contributions must be received by this date to ensure they reach families in time for Christmas.
Centres are also encouraging visitors to keep an eye out for posters and displays, including an example image from last year’s setup, to help spread awareness of the campaign. Full details can also be found on the Sleigh2Give website.
“We’re grateful for every single donation,” Kevin added. “Together, we can help bring joy to those who need it most.”
Anyone with questions or wishing to coordinate their own donation arrangements is invited to speak with centre staff.
