The Healthwise Programme is pleased to invite the local community to a Stroke awareness event taking place on Thursday 21st May, from 12pm-2pm, at the Link Centre. This free, welcoming event is designed especially for those recovering from a stroke to get more information specific to supporting them with Daily activities. As a part of May being stroke awareness month their will be the opportunity to donate money towards Stroke Association UK.

Healthwise is delivered through GLL Better Leisure centres across Swindon, including the Link Centre, Haydon Centre, Dorcan, and the Health Hydro. From June Healthwise will be delivering weekly stroke exercise group classes.

Throughout the morning, attendees will be able to visit a range of information stands that will offer advice, guidance, and opportunities to learn more about the support available within the community. Refreshments will also be provided, creating a relaxed and social atmosphere.

At 1pm there will be an optional drop-in education session that will be based around physical activity for improving daily living as well as plans for the stroke group exercise class.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with local services, gain practical health information, and take positive steps towards activity for better daily living. We look forward to welcoming the community to the Link centre on Wednesday 20th May.
