Families in the Vale are set for an action‑packed school break as White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre announces a full programme of Swimming, Gym and Tennis activities for February Half Term. Running from Monday 16th to Friday 20th February, the centre aims to offer a mix of fun, fitness and skill‑building sessions for children and adults alike.

This year’s timetable places a strong emphasis on accessible family activity, with everything from inflatable pool sessions to £1 child swims.

Expanded Swimming Programme for all ages

Younger swimmers will have the chance to make rapid progress through the Foundation Swimming Intensives, taking place Monday to Thursday. Designed for both non‑swimmers and developing swimmers, the sessions run at 9:00–9:30am and 9:30–10:00am, offering focused instruction at a key time of year for building water confidence.

Meanwhile, the ever‑popular Aqua Splash inflatable sessions return on Monday 16th and Wednesday 18th February, with two one‑hour sessions each day (12:00–13:00 and 13:10–14:10). Suitable for anyone aged five and above, the sessions include mandatory buoyancy jackets and require children under eight to be supervised in the water by a competent adult.

In a boost for families, the centre is also reintroducing its Kids Swim for £1 offer, available every weekday from 9:00-10:00am, encouraging younger children to get active at a budget‑friendly price.

Parents with toddlers can make use of both regular and additional Toddler Splash sessions throughout the week, while those looking for flexible family pool time will benefit from extended Swim for All availability on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00–12:00 and 13:00–19:00.

Gym sessions to support young people staying active

The gym will also see increased opportunities for junior participation.
Adult & Junior Gym access will run each weekday evening from 18:00–20:00, allowing junior members to work out alongside a supervising adult.

For independent training, Junior Gym sessions for 11–17 year‑olds will operate daily throughout half term from 9:00–18:00, in addition to the regular weekend times of 9:00–17:00. First‑time users will need to arrange an induction before attending.

Tennis Coaching continues through the break

On the courts, the centre will maintain its usual programme of Adult Tennis Coaching, including Adult Beginners on Thursday 19th February (18:30–20:00) and Adult Advanced on Thursday 16 February (20:00–21:30).

Spaces remain available in junior tennis sessions for children aged 5–7, running Monday to Thursday at 16:00–17:00, with free trial sessions offered during half term. Parents interested in securing a place can contact the centre’s tennis team directly via email.
