We’re excited to announce that all of our centres across the Welwyn & Hatfield Partnership have officially joined the Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme. This means that whether you're visiting Hatfield Swim Centre, Hatfield Leisure Centre, Stanborough Lakes, Panshanger Golf Complex, or Gosling Sports Park, you can feel confident knowing that breastfeeding is welcome here.

Our goal is to create spaces that are inclusive, supportive, and respectful for everyone. We know that for many parents and carers, breastfeeding in public can feel uncomfortable or even stressful. That’s why we’ve made a clear commitment to help change that experience. You’ll now see posters in our venues showing our support and helping to build confidence for those who choose to breastfeed.

We’ve also made sure our staff and volunteers understand why breastfeeding matters and how it is legally protected. Under the Equality Act 2010, all women have the right to breastfeed in public, including in our centres. It’s part of our promise to treat every family with respect and care.

Breastfeeding has proven health benefits for both babies and mothers, and it’s better for the environment too. But worries about public reaction still stop many people from breastfeeding as long as they’d like. That’s why support — from both our team and our wider community — is so important.

We invite all our customers to help us create a welcoming and respectful atmosphere. Together, we can make a real difference for families in our community.

Because at Better, every parent is welcome, and every family matters.
