Kicking off on Monday 1st December, 2025, Waddon Leisure Centre is set to become a haven of warmth and support for the local community by launching its dedicated "Warm Spaces" initiative. This program offers sessions that are completely free of charge and designed to provide comfort, connection, and essential amenities during what can be challenging and expensive times, particularly as winter sets in.

These dedicated "Warm Spaces" sessions will run three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, welcoming visitors between 1pm and 3pm. The centre is committed to fostering a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels safe and supported, regardless of their circumstances.

What to Expect at the Sessions
The initiative is focused on providing tangible relief and a comfortable environment. Visitors can look forward to a range of complimentary facilities and services:

Free Refreshments: Enjoy unlimited free tea and coffee to warm up and relax.
Comfortable Seating: A dedicated area with comfortable seating will be available for reading, socialising, or simply resting.
Stay Connected: Benefit from free Wi-Fi access to keep up with news, connect with family and friends, or handle essential online tasks.
Device Charging: Complimentary phone charging points will be available, ensuring everyone can keep their devices powered up.
A particularly valuable inclusion for those facing hardship is the offer of a free warm shower for non-members. This critical provision acknowledges the difficulties many face with rising utility costs and offers a dignified solution.

Open to Everyone
The "Warm Spaces" initiative is a community effort and is open to both existing members and non-members of Waddon Leisure Centre. There is no requirement to use the sports facilities; the sessions are purely for providing a safe, warm, and inclusive space. By opening its doors and offering these essential services, Waddon Leisure Centre hopes to play a significant role in supporting the well-being and resilience of the Waddon and wider Croydon community throughout the winter period.
