Here at Manchester Aquatics Centre we are proud to be taking part in a water safety awareness campaign, helping to educate visitors on how to stay safe in and around water.

As part of the initiative,we are promoting key water safety messages, including the importance of assessing your surroundings, following local signs and advice, and always swimming with friends or family whenever possible. As a fully lifeguarded venue, Manchester Aquatics Centre provides a safe environment where people of all ages can enjoy swimming while building confidence in the water.

Throughout this week’s swimming lessons, teachers will be sharing important water safety advice with participants, helping swimmers understand how to stay safe both in and around the water. Lessons will cover key messages such as recognising potential hazards, swimming at lifeguarded venues, and what to do if you or someone else gets into difficulty.

Swimming instructors and staff at the centre are supporting the campaign by encouraging swimmers to learn essential life-saving skills, including how to remain calm, float on their back, and call for help if they become tired or unexpectedly enter deep water.

By taking part in this important initiative and incorporating water safety education into swimming lessons this week, Manchester Aquatics Centre is helping to raise awareness across Greater Manchester and encouraging everyone to enjoy water activities safely and responsibly this Summer!
