Palmer Park Leisure Centre to host its first Triathlon event on 29th March 2026
Palmer Park Leisure Centre is set to host its first triathlon event on Sunday, 29 March 2026, starting at 9am.
The inaugural event promises an exciting challenge for local fitness enthusiasts, combining swimming, cycling and running in a dynamic test of endurance — all within the iconic Palmer Park setting.
Participants will begin with a 400-metre swim — equivalent to 16 lengths — in the leisure centre’s indoor pool. From there, competitors will transition to a 10km cycle around the velodrome before finishing strong with a 3km run around Palmer Park.
The event is open to both members and non-members of the leisure centre. Entry is free for members, while non-members can take part for just £10. With spaces limited to just 25 entrants for this first event, organisers are encouraging early booking to avoid disappointment.
Booking will be available on 1st March 2026.
Participants are required to wear appropriate sporting attire and must bring their own bike and helmet. Fixed wheel bikes will not be permitted for safety reasons.
Please note that this is a participation event, and individuals will be required to self-count and self-time.
A full brief will be provided prior to start.
Organisers say the event is designed to be welcoming yet challenging, offering a supportive environment for those looking to test themselves in a multi-discipline format.
With limited spaces and strong local interest expected, the first Palmer Park Leisure Centre Triathlon is shaping up to be a standout addition to the community’s sporting calendar.
