Frequently asked questions

What should I wear to my women-only session?

Depending on the session, you’ll want to wear something that’s comfortable and supportive to move in. Bring your favourite swimsuit and a swimming hat to your poolside session or lesson.

In your fitness class, activewear is the perfect choice. Whether you wear leggings, shorts, joggers, tight- or loose-fitting tops – it's up to you. Whatever helps you move in a way you feel most confident. Bring trainers and training socks so that your ankles and joints are supported in your session.

And don’t forget your sports bra!

What else should I bring to my women-only session?

Bring a bottle of water with you, as all sessions require for you to stay hydrated. We have refill stations throughout our centres, and you can fill up as often as you like to keep you feeling well.

For poolside sessions, bring your goggles, a towel, a swimming hat, flip flops/sliders, underwear, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (optional), deodorant and a hairbrush if required. We have hairdryers at all locations.
For classes, bring a sweat towel and items for showering after should you want to use these facilities. All gyms have female-only changing rooms, so you can change in comfort.

Check your centre’s locker charges – you may need to bring change for the lockers or purchase locker tokens on your visit.

How much does it cost to take part in a women-only session?

Women-only sessions are included in all memberships. For pay-as-you-go options, please see your local centre’s webpage for pricing details, as prices may vary during peak and off-peak times. Find your centre and see your options.

Are sessions accessible?

We want to make sure you are feeling safe and supported on your visit. Steps are taken to ensure all sessions are accessible or adaptable to your needs. Check out your local centre’s accessibility information for any specific requirements and get in touch with the team if you have any questions or concerns.

How much experience do I need to take part in a session?

There are a range of women-only sessions for all abilities – so you don’t need any previous experience to take part. When you go to book a session with Better, you will see a description of the class, which will tell you the experience level needed to have a good time and feel the benefit in that specific session.

How old do I need to be to take part in a session?

Girls from as young as 11 can take part in girls-only fitness classes and programmes as part of a Better Junior Membership. There’s no upper age limit to participation – everyone's welcome to join in and find a workout that works for them.

How do I book a session?

Find a class at your local centre on the Better UK app, or on the Better website; add the session to your basket; head to the check-out to complete your booking and receive a confirmation email. Book your next women-only session with Better.
