Swim School Distance Awards & Medals
Q. What are Swim School Distance Awards?
Distance Awards are medals and certificates awarded to celebrate your child’s swimming achievements. During Distance Week, pupils are encouraged to swim distances, appropriate to their levels, and can be rewarded with a medal and certificate to recognise their achievements.
Q. When does Distance Week take place?
Distance Weeks are held up to three times per year. Dates are communicated in advance via email, posters in centre, and on our digital screens. Keep an eye out for updates so your child doesn’t miss out! They take place within your child’s normal swimming lesson – no extra sessions are needed.
Q. Do we need to book separately for Distance Week?
No. Distance challenges are completed as part of your child’s regular swimming lesson.
Q. How can my child earn a medal?
During the lesson, your child will swim a set distance. If they achieve it, they will be awarded the matching medal and certificate to mark their success.
Medals and certificates are available for a wide range of distances (from Foundation levels through to more Academy). If they don't manage to achieve their set distance, you will get the change to purchase a 'Well Done' medal co celebrate their efforts, so every child has a chance to achieve and be recognised.
Q. How much do the medals and certificates cost?
Medals and certificates are available to purchase during Distance Week. Prices will be £5 for both the medal and certificate. Once purchased, medals and certificates can be collected from the Medals Collection Point in your centre. Look out for the signs and displays in reception.
