After 8 weeks of building work and installation of equipment centre staff at the Rainbow Leisure Centre & Spa in Epsom were delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Epsom & Ewell to officially open the brand new Play Park.

The Mayor and Mayoress were joined by Epsom & Ewell Council Chief Operating Officer Damian Roberts, along with Councillor Phil Neal and Leisure Development Manager Sam Beak with GLL being represented by General Manger Darren Pope, David Hughes, Gary Starkey, James Brackenborough and Community Sports Manager Katie Nixon.

The opening has received lots of positive local news and social media coverage, and the friends and family day held for GLL and council staff just a few days ago attracted over 225 children and approximately 100 adults across the two hour slots from 9am to 5pm, along with catering for five birthday parties.

Just three hours after opening, the Play Park had already attracted 71 children with 55 tickets being sold online already across the 1-3pm and 3-5pm sessions, with more tickets available to purchase in-centre.

“I am thrilled to finally be opening the doors of our brand new Play Park to the public after over a year of consultations and planning. Staff at the centre, and our contractors, worked tirelessly to ensure the facility was ready on time and we believe it will be a huge asset for families living locally.” Said Darren Pope, General Manager.
